Occasionally, something appears in my inboz which looks interesting, but which I can’t experience myself. Usually it’s an exciting event that I can’t attend, but this time it’s an app that’s not yet available for my phone. I quite often use my lovely shiny Samsung Galaxy S4 to browse online stores and search for something specific – like a new winter coat, or some pointed toe flats that are made of something less absorbent than suede – and it can be a right pain to navigate some of the terrible mobile websites in order to find what I want. Mallzee looks to be the perfect way around this with the added sociability factor of being able to share stuff with your friends, if you so desire. You can browse items from over 200 fashion brands and either purchase straight away, or share your find with the people who know you best to see what they think. Mallzee also remembers what you like, so tell it what you love and hate and it will learn to recommend more of the stuff you really want. I was keen to try it out straight away, but it’s currently only available from iTunes. Hopefully they’re busily working on an Android version as I type this!
Mallzee is available free on iTunes now. It requires iOS 6.0 or later, is compatible with iPhone/iPad/iPod touch, and is optimised for iPhone 5. If you try it out, do let me know what you think.
